Blaney McMurtry Welcomes New Partner, Christopher Tan

Christopher Tan is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and is a registered trademark agent. Christopher is an experienced litigator, with a primary focus on intellectual property litigation, including proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. In addition to this, he has litigated commercial and construction cases, as well as proceedings for the enforcement of foreign judgments and court orders. He has appeared as counsel before the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Ontario Superior Court (including the Commercial List) and the Trademarks Opposition Board.

In addition, Christopher is a trusted strategic advisor to his clients on matters relating to intellectual property and business development. His clients include pharmaceutical companies (both innovator and generic) and manufacturers of consumer goods, including in the tool and hardware industries.
